A 67-year-old trailer driver is now facing possible trafficking charges after found to be transporting around 200 pounds of marijuana cross-country.
Falcon Bach RCMP were called to West Hawk Scales Tuesday afternoon on Highway 1 where a tractor trailer unit was being inspected for load securement.
The search of the trailer turned up a large amount of marijuana, vacuum sealed and packed in several cardboard boxes. In total, police seized 132 packages of marijuana, weighing a total of approximately 200 pounds.
The trailer, which originally left from Surrey, British Columbia, was destined for Toronto, Ontario. The investigation is ongoing. No further information is available.
