Winnipeg man’s crime spree comes to an end

Winnipeg Police have arrested John Nickerson, 26, in connection with a rash of break-ins.

Nickerson is suspected of being involved in the following incidents:

• March 10^th – Business located in the 1400 block of Spruce Street – merchandise stolen
• June 3^rd – Garage break-in – 600 block of Denson Place – Damage caused, property stolen
• June 4^th – Residence – 300 block of Lipton Street – Damage caused, property stolen
• September 16^th – Residence – 700 block of Valour Road – property stolen
• September 16^th – Suspect attempts to pawn previously stolen property at business – 500 block of Sargent Avenue
• September 22^nd – Residence – 700 block of Ashburn Street – damage caused, property stolen
• September 22^nd – Suspect attempts to pawn previously stolen property at business – 1300 block of Portage Avenue
• September – stole property from a residence located in the 700 block of Pacific Avenue
• October 1^st – 4^th – On three occasions, the suspect attended to a business located in the 600 block of Empress Street – damage was caused and property stolen. On one occasion, staff was confronted by the suspect

For his alleged involvement, Nickerson has been charged with three counts of breaking and entering with theft, two counts of breaking and entering with intent, robbery, possession of a weapon, and theft under $5000.

He is currently in police custody.
