A Winnipeg teen is facing a four year jail sentence after pleading guilty to murdering a woman in Charleswood last year.
The 16-year-old fatally attacked a 66-year-old woman inside her home on May 19, 2015.
Today, he pleaded guilty to second degree murder and was given four years in a youth jail. After serving his time, he will be supervised on probation for three years.
The teen has been in custody since his arrest in May.
The victim was well respected for being an advocate for First Nations issues in northern Manitoba.
Although a publication ban prohibits the identification of the teen and the victim, it has been reported that the two did know each other.
