A 17-year-old male has been charged with multiple firearms offences after fleeing a traffic stop with a .22 calibre sawed-off rifle.
On Tuesday afternoon, Winnipeg police were operating a traffic stop at Main Street and St. John’s Avenue when the suspect – a passenger in the vehicle – fled on foot. Officers apprehended him after a brief foot chase.
The driver of the vehicle was able to flee the area.
