Three men have been arrested after a violent home invasion at a rural residence north of Rossburn, Manitoba. On October 27th, shortly after midnight, an elderly male was tied up and assaulted by the masked men who were carrying weapons. The victim was hospitalized and is now recovering. RCMP believe the incident was targeted.
Robert Ward, 42, of Minnedosa was arrested on October 30th, after which investigators identified the second suspect, Fabian Pendle, 21, who was arrested near Strathclair on Saturday evening. The third suspect, Julian Johnston, 41, of the RM of Yellowhead, was arrested near Shoal Lake, Manitoba, on Monday afternoon.
All three men have received multiple charges, including break and enter to commit robbery with violence, assault causing bodily harm, and unlawful confinement.
“We would like to thank the public for their continued assistance in order to hold criminals responsible for their actions.” said Sgt. Bert Paquet of the Manitoba RCMP. “As it was the case here, residents of our communities play a key role in our crime reduction efforts and we always welcome their help.”
