BRANDON, MB. — The following are Brandon Police Service bulletins for Saturday, March 25th:
Banished
A 22-year-old Sioux Valley man banished from Brandon was arrested by police.
It happened Friday morning around 11:00am in the 300-block of 9th Street.
The accused was wanted on an outstanding warrant and had court orders to not enter Brandon.
He was charged with breach of recognizance and lodged overnight at the Brandon Correctional Centre.
The accused will appear in court Saturday morning.
He remains behind bars.
Drinking In Public
A 19-year-old Brandon woman is facing charges for possessing open liquor in public.
Police stopped her in the 100-block of 4th Street around 10:15pm Friday night.
The accused has court orders to abstain from consuming alcohol.
She was thrown in the drunk tank at the Brandon Correctional Centre to sober up.
Police will release the woman on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
Teen Shoplifters
Two Brandon girls are in trouble after they allegedly shoplifted.
It happened around 2:30pm Friday afternoon at a store in the 900-block of Victoria Avenue.
The girls are known to staff for numerous shoplifting offences and were spotted fleeing the store.
Staff provided the suspects’ names to police, who paid them a visit at their homes.
Both are charged with Theft Under $5,000 and were given a court date in April.
