Two men have been arrested in connection with the shootings that occurred in central Winnipeg early Saturday morning.
Devvin Worthington, 23, and Christian Boyd, 24, were arrested and charged with second-degree murder, along with several breaches and firearm-related offences yesterday. Both men are currently in custody.
Victim Paul Thorne, 36, was shot shortly after midnight in the 400 block of Stradbrook Avenue in Osborne Village.
Thorne was taken to hospital in critical condition, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He later succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation has revealed that the victim, in the company of two others, attended to the rear of a business located on Stradbrook Avenue for a pre-arranged meeting. Criminal activity is suspected, police confirm.
The victim and his associates met up with two men, at which time a dispute erupted. One of the suspects allegedly shot Thorne before fleeing.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit continue to investigate.
