BRANDON, MB. — The following are Brandon Police Service crime briefs for Thursday, April 27th:
Pepper Spray
A 20-year-old Brandon man is facing charges after he pepper sprayed another man.
It happened around 1:20am Tuesday morning in the 300-block of Park Avenue.
The two men, unknown to each other, became involved in a physical altercation
The victim received minor injuries from the attack.
Brandon police were able to track down the suspect that evening.
He’s charged with Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
The accused was released on a promise to appear in court in June.
Don’t Call Me
Two prisoners are facing charges for trying to contact people against court orders.
The Brandon Correctional Centre intercepted the communications and reported them.
Brandon police say the two incidents are separate.
A 29-year-old man and 22-year-old man are charged with Breach of Court Orders.
Both appeared in court Wednesday.
Love Hurts
A 47-year-old Brandon man is facing charges after a nasty fight with his girlfriend.
It happened around 10:10pm Wednesday at a home in the 100-block of Frederick Street.
The pair, who live together, started arguing and it soon turned physical.
Police say the man allegedly pushed the victim from behind, knocking her to the floor.
He then bent her fingers all the way back as he tried to rip her phone out of her hands.
She received minor injuries in the struggle.
The accused was charged with Domestic Assault and detained overnight at the Brandon Correctional Centre.
He appeared in court Wednesday.
