BRANDON, MB. — A Brandon inmate is facing fresh charges for trying to obstruct justice.
The 38-year-old man was sent to prison after a 2015 investigation into human trafficking.
He allegedly tried to contact a female in writing back in March while in custody awaiting his court date.
Her age was not disclosed.
Brandon police discovered the man told the victim not to testify during the upcoming trial.
He was also on court orders not to contact the female.
The inmate was arrested Monday at the Brandon Correctional Centre.
He’s been charged with Obstruct Justice and Breach of Recognizance.
A preliminary hearing for the new accusations is set for Tuesday.
The man remains behind bars.
