WINNIPEG, MB. — Two Winnipeg men are charged after one accidentally shot himself in a taxi.
It happened back on April 6th around 8:00am in the 2100-block of Gallagher Avenue.
The men entered the cab and asked to be driven to a nearby address.
On the way, one removed a sawed-off shotgun from a bag and gave it to the other man who concealed it on his person.
The vehicle arrived at the destination and the men exited when the firearm went off.
His friend fled on foot and the taxi raced the injured suspect to hospital.
Winnipeg police met him there and placed him under arrest.
Sean Roy Martin, 24, has been charged with numerous firearm-related offences and fail to comply probation order.
Investigators caught up with his friend on Wednesday.
Mark Douglas Rodgers, 25, is also facing numerous firearm-related charges.
Both remain behind bars.
