BRANDON, MB. — Two Brandon men have been arrested for an armed burglary.
It happened at an apartment complex in the 600-block of Douglas Street.
Security personnel were reviewing surveillance footage on Tuesday when they noticed two masked men slip into the building.
The suspects were carrying a bolt-action rifle and handgun.
They approached one of the units and tried to enter it, but were unsuccessful.
One of the accused left the building and broke into the apartment through a window.
He let the other man in and they looted the space before fleeing.
At one point, the suspects were captured on video with their masks removed.
Brandon police caught up with the pair on Wednesday.
A 32-year-old man and a 25-year-old man have been charged with:
- Break, Enter and Theft
- Disguise with intent
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
The accused will appear in court Thursday for a preliminary hearing.
Both men remain behind bars at the Brandon Correctional Centre.
Police have not yet recovered the weapons or the stolen property.
The investigation is ongoing.
