BRANDON, MB. — A 19-year-old Brandon man is accused of a bad insurance scam.
He reported his 1987 Ford Ranger truck had been stolen from behind his home around 5:35pm Sunday.
It allegedly happened between 3:50pm and 5:30pm in the 400-block of 6th Street.
Brandon police located the abandoned truck in a parking lot in the 900-block of Victoria Avenue.
Investigators quickly determined the man had driven the vehicle and left it there in the hopes of collecting insurance money.
The suspect was arrested and charged with Public Mischief.
He was released on a promise to appear in court in August.
