A 78-year-old woman is expected to make a full recovery after a recent assault in a Stonewall church.
In the afternoon on Saturday, Dec. 12, a 21-year-old woman asked to be let into Stonewall United Church to pray. The 78-year-old woman let her into the building.
A short time later, the older woman said it was time to leave. The younger woman assaulted her, causing facial cuts and bruising.
RCMP arrested the 21-year-old woman, an American citizen who was also taken for mental health assessment. She faces charges of assault causing bodily harm.
