Two teenage girls are facing charges after a girl was attacked in a local high school.
On Nov. 17, Winnipeg Police Service were called to a high school in the 700 block of St. Mary’s Road for an assault incident.
A former student and current student targeted a 15-year-old girl and physically assaulted her in a washroom at the school. During the assault, staff and students could hear screams that alerted them about the incident.
The 16-year-old former student fled the school but officers found her nearby and arrested her. She has been charged with assault and failure to comply with the conditions of an undertaking. She remains in custody.
The second suspect, a 14-year-old girl, was also found and arrested. She faces an assault charge and was released on a promise to appear.
The victim, a fellow student, has minor upper body injuries.
